U.S. Veterans Magazine (USVM) was honored to partner with and attend the Heroes Linked Gala, an exceptional event that showcased the platform’s impact on the veteran community. As a partner, USVM aligns itself with Heroes Linked’s mission of empowering veterans through meaningful connections and valuable career insights.
In a world where veterans seek seamless transitions from military to civilian life, platforms like Heroes Linked emerge as beacons of support. Unlike traditional veteran programs or job sites, Heroes Linked stands out as a free, user-friendly online platform connecting veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses with industry-diverse professionals. These mentors offer vital assistance, from resume critiques to valuable feedback on career aspirations—aiding veterans in finding meaningful employment.
A Journey with Gary Sinise and U.S. Veterans Magazine
USVM shares a special connection with Gary Sinise, dating back to the magazine’s inception. Sinise was not only on the inaugural cover of USVM, but has continued to be a steadfast advocate and supporter of the magazine over the years. He is always featured prominently for significant milestones, including our upcoming 15-year anniversary cover in 2025. Sinise first met Mona Lisa Faris, USVM president and founder, 20 years ago at the Snowball Express event, where he agreed to be on the very first USVM cover. He’s also been featured on the cover of our special 5-year and 10-year anniversary issues, commemorating his commitment to veterans through USVM.
A Night of Recognition and Friendship
The gala held on Nov. 17, 2023, at the prestigious Beverly Hilton Hotel was an unforgettable celebration of service and commitment. One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the 2023 Heroes Linked Distinguished Service Award to the esteemed Sinise. Beyond his accolades as an accomplished actor and producer, Sinise has been a stalwart advocate for veterans for over a decade.
Sinise’s commitment to veterans extends through the Gary Sinise Foundation, where he spearheads initiatives such as the R.I.S.E program, providing adaptive homes for injured veterans; and Soaring Valor, flying WWII veterans to the WWII Museum. His support for Gold Star Families through the Snowball Express event and the entertainment he provides through the Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band has made him a beacon of hope for the national veteran community.
Joe Mantegna, another influential figure in the entertainment industry, introduced and presented the award to Sinise at the gala. The event was also attended by other notable figures like Jean Smart, Robert Patrick and Christopher McDonald, making it an exceptional night of recognition and camaraderie.
Expressing Gratitude and Looking Forward
USVM extends heartfelt thanks to Heroes Linked, Gary Sinise, the Outstanding Medal of Honor Honorees and all attendees for contributing to an unforgettable and spectacular evening. As the magazine continues its mission of supporting and celebrating the veteran community, partnerships with organizations like Heroes Linked reaffirm the commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those who have served our nation.
In celebrating heroes like Sinise and the impactful work of Heroes Linked, we look forward to a future where every veteran finds the support and opportunities they deserve.
Here’s to honoring service, building bridges and creating a brighter future for our veterans.
