The Military Basketball Association (MBA) is coming home — and bringing its mission to save lives through basketball back to where it all began. The 2026 MBA World Championship Games will take place at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, honoring the service, strength, and resilience of America’s military community.
Before the championship tip-off, the MBA will host a three-day tournament focused on suicide prevention, May 1–3, 2026, at Clune Arena during Mental Health Awareness Month. The top two men’s and women’s teams will go head-to-head in the nationally televised, livestreamed MBA World Championship Games on Sunday, May 3.
Hundreds of veterans, active-duty service members, airmen, guardians, and their families from bases around the world will converge in Colorado Springs to compete, connect, and continue the fight against the silent battles too many warriors face. The MBA— a 501(c)(3) nonprofit—brings together nearly 1,000 military athletes each year across 50 teams worldwide, using the power of basketball to build camaraderie, resilience, and mental wellness within the military community.
“Colorado is proud to welcome the Military Basketball Association back to its roots,” said Governor Jared Polis. “This event celebrates the incredible athleticism and spirit of our service members while strengthening the bonds between veterans, military families, and our communities.”
Air Force Academy Director of Athletics Nathan Pine echoed that sentiment: “It’s an honor to open our doors to these remarkable athletes. The MBA Championship Games embody the teamwork, dedication, and excellence that define our service members and the Air Force Academy.”
Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade added, “In Olympic City USA, we understand the power of sport to heal. Hosting the MBA World Championship Games is a reminder that through teamwork and connection, our warriors can continue to find strength—on and off the court.”
MBA Commissioner Mike Meyers shared, “Returning to Colorado for our World Championship Games during the nation’s 250th anniversary is deeply meaningful. Basketball has always been our vehicle for connection, resilience, and recovery, and we’re grateful to the Academy and the people of Colorado for supporting our mission.”
The 2026 MBA World Championship Games will stream live on Pluto TV and air nationally on CBS Sports Network.
