Superstar Duo Florida Georgia Line and The Independence Fund, teamed up for a special event to benefit a wounded veteran on June 3, 2017 at the Starplex Pavilion, Dallas, TX.
The Independence Fund, a leading national veterans organization, in connection with superstar duo Florida Georgia Line teamed up to benefit the life of a wounded veteran. Prior to FGL’s headline THE SMOOTH TOUR stop on Saturday June 3, 2017 in Dallas, TX, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard presented Stephanie Nearing an all-terrain Track Chair. This special chair allows wounded veterans the ability to regain their mobility and independence.

Stephanie Nearing served 8 years in the Navy from August of 1988 to July of 1996. During that time, she deployed multiple times, including to Desert Storm/Shield. During her deployment, she received the Navy Achievement Medal, for assisting injured Sailors by making orthotics. The other medals she received during service were; National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon Multiple deployments, and Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait). She served on three ships, USS Simon Lake AS-33, USS Shenandoah AD-44, and the USS Emory S. Land AS-39. Stephanie was honorably discharged, due to medical disabilities, from the U.S. Navy.
Stephanie has 2 children Jessica and Gabi who were both delivered at Portsmouth Navy Hospital while Stephanie was in service. Stephanie, her husband Paul (also a Veteran), Gabi, Jessica, Carson (Stephanie’s Grandson) and Jessica’s significant other will be attended the event.
