CUTS FOR A CAUSE: HOMELESS VETERANS GET FRESH START WITH FREE GROOMING FROM WAHL

August 27, 2021

WHAT:
Hundreds of homeless and in-need veterans will show up for the Chicago Standdown event at the General Jones Armory on Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. In addition to services such as medical screenings and employment assistance, Sterling, Ill., based company Wahl Clipper Corp. will park its 20-foot mobile barbershop at the event and offer FREE haircuts and beard trims. Wahl has also partnered with Greater Good Charities’ Good Packs Program and will hand out 400 beard trimmers to the Veterans alongside backpacks filled with essential needs such as toiletries, warm blankets, and reusable water bottles.

WHY:
Wahl is dedicated to making the world a ‘bearder’ place to live. What does that mean? Whether it’s providing grooming services to those in need or raising money for charities, the Wahl mobile barbershop is a vehicle for spreading goodwill and good grooming across the country.

Wahl is honored to bring the barbershop to the Chicago Standdown event, because just as ‘standdown’ is known as a respite from the battlefield, the company hopes to offer a little bit of respite to the many Veterans who have been suffering over the past year and a half due to the pandemic.

WHEN:
Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

WHERE:
General Jones Armory
5200 S. Cottage Grove, Chicago, Ill.
(The exact barbershop location is TBD until the day of, please text Wahl’s Tour Manager Justin Patricoff at (440) 610-9257 for location information.)
